Dr. van Kempen is a clinical scientist in molecular pathology and specialized in molecular diagnostics in oncology. Although a generalist in molecular diagnostics, he is an expert in molecular analyses of melanoma, lung cancer, and sarcoma. He is a member of the workgroup of Molecular Pathology of the Dutch Society for Pathology (NVVP), steering committee member of the Dutch work group of Hematopathology (NWGH), steering committee member of the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) Melanoma Group and member of the molecular tumor board at the UMCG.
