Prof. Nir Peled is the head of the Oncology Division at the Legacy Heritage Oncology Center & Larry Norton Institute at Soroka Medical Center, Ben-Gurion University, Beer-Sheva, Israel. He is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonology and medical oncology.
Prof. Peled practices mainly in the field of thoracic oncology and is one of the key opinion leaders in that field. He is the chair of the thoracic cancer Assembly of the European Thoracic Society and a co-chair of the screening committee of the IASLC (International Association of Lung Cancer).
Prof. Peled’ research focuses on the wide translational and clinical perspectives of lung cancer, including personalized targeted therapy in lung cancer, biomarkers development and early detection of this disease. He has published more than 150 peer-review articles among them guidelines in early diagnosis of lung cancer, biomarker development and treatment of advanced disease. Prof. Peled is on the editorial board of numerous journals including the Journal of Thoracic Oncology and other lung-cancer related journals.
